... and another. I’m happy with the stitched detail on the lumbar pillow, though I might’ve been playing it safe with the pattern. I always lean toward clean, modern, minimalist design, but every once in awhile I just want to unleash some garish paisley explosion into the world. Maybe next time.

...but there’s this Baltic Blue
These are the component pieces for the base of the new lounger. Before final assembly, I’m trying to work out the best upholstery to pair with the white oak. Getting a nice soft feel off this heathered grey. I’ll be showing off the end result throughout October at @showpdx. Opening night next Wednesday!
This is the same piece that came off the bending form yesterday. After a bit of shaping, it’s starting to look like a thing!
Trying out the bending form for a new chair design. The first test piece looks good so far.
To assemble your chair frames, simply apply glue to the enclosed 132 dowel pins, and carefully insert them into the 264 designated dowel holes. Add clamps.
Nice little pop of green in the mid morning sun. Fabric is a traditional 100% wool upholstery Felt from Knoll Textiles and legs are white oak.
Thought I would share a few more photos of this as yet unnamed fella (Chairly Sheen? President Chairald Ford? The Fresh Prince of Bel Chair?).
Never been great at naming objects, but I need to figure out what to call this guy. Maybe I should take a cue from my four year old, whose favorite toys are Yuni (a unicorn), Slothrow (a sloth), and Bear (a bear). So something like... Cherry? Chereaux? Chairissa?
Found a nice bit of figure in this last little walnut side table.
Been in the thick of it lately and haven’t been posting, thought it might be time to share a bit of what I’ve been up to. This is a pair of custom mounded plywood side tables made with a walnut veneer over a birch core.
